Part I - Life Under the Sun: Oracle 1
The Lands of Dusk and Twilight
There are two worlds which exist beneath the sun where men and women make their homes—one is Dusk and the other Twilight.
The sun’s light shines equally in both lands and the shadows it casts are the same, but viewed from opposite perspectives. People live and die, and laugh, and cry, and raise up new generations in both worlds. The eye perceives no difference. The mountains are the same, the rivers are the same, the boundaries of land and sea are the same; there are plants and animals too:
But in the Land of Dusk the sun only sets,
And in the Land of Twilight the sun only rises.

In both lands, death has wrapped its chain around the sun and fights to pull it below the horizon;
And in the Land of Dusk the sun is dragged a little lower each day,
But in the Land of Twilight the sun ascends without worry.

All humankind is born in the Land of Dusk:
At the moment of birth, the sky is orange advancing toward shades of red then black. There might be days when dark clouds roll in, and others may follow where the sky is bright and clear, but with each passing day the sun descends a little lower. No one who rests their bones in the Land of Dusk will ever see the full light of day.
When their bodies fail them and death wins its struggle, the sun will drop below the horizon, never to return. A new light will come to take its place that shines ever-brighter, but it will not be seen in the Land of Dusk—the Realm of Final Darkness.

Everyone who dwells in the Land of Twilight comes to it by choice:
At the moment of birth, the sky is orange advancing toward shades of yellow then blue. There might be days when the sky is bright and clear, and others may follow where dark clouds roll in, but with each passing day the sun ascends a little higher. No one who lays themselves down in the Land of Twilight will fail to see the full light of day.
When their bodies perish and death dies too, the sun will reach its apex and be no more. A new light will come to take its place that shines ever-brighter and the Land of Twilight will be transformed—known forevermore as the New Kingdom of the Light

Oh child! Will you dwell in dusk and darkness for all your days, or journey on to unending light?
